Los ultimos "paladines" / Marin, Raul

REFERENCE TO GENERIC UNIT (Periodica): Pensamiento propio : 70., p. 26-28. - Managua, 1990.

LANGUAGE: SPA

ABSTRACT: Raul Marin analyses the changes inside the contra-forces during the ten years of civil war in Nicaragua. He thinks, that they are not the Somoza guardians, which 1979 left Nicaragua, nor are they the mercenaries which 1985 prepared to enter in Managua with victory. Only one of the contra-leaders who signed the peace treaty is from the Somoza Guard. The contra-forces have been diminishing and growing in different periods, mainly depending of the US aid. The treaties signed in Montelimar and in Managua, have brought to collapse the authority of the head command. And many of the previous contra-leaders have converted themselves into business. For the last contra-leader not willing to give up the armed struggle, comandante Franklin, there are few posiblities left: or he shall agree to give up the armes, or he shall turn his forces into bandites.
